Drawn, Worn and Reborn
The UV’s
The UV’s, 1980
Polyester, gaberdine with satin-ultraviolet appliqué
Designed by Noel Crombie

In this set of costumes Crombie had again incorporated the use of appliqué with ultraviolet sensitive fabrics which became fluorescent on stage under special lighting. These costumes therefore became a unique and spectacular part of the overall performance. Crombie used this technique again for other sets of costumes –
The Nu-Vu's (1981) and Enz With a Bang (1984).

The design of each of these jackets was loosely based on the work of artists including Picasso, Mondrian and Kandinsky. The UVs are associated with the Album True Colours.
