Presented by the Arts Centre, Short + Sweet Melbourne is the biggest and best annual 10-minute theatre competition! Every year hundreds of writers, actors and directors get involved and 2008 will prove to be no exception...

There are several components to Short + Sweet:

CALL FOR ENTRIES
* Call for scripts from writers around Australia closed on Monday 4 August. Selected entries will be announced shortly but if you missed the August deadline to enter your script - click here to enter it into Short + Sweet Sydney instead!
* Proposals fromIndependent Theatre Ensembles Proposals, actors and directors closed Friday 22 August.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS
* Shortlisted theatre scripts will be annouced during October for both individual entries and Independent Theatre Ensembles.
* Directors & Actors auditions will commence through September.

COMPETITION
* Performances of the chosen works will run from 3 - 20 December 2008 at the Arts Centre, Fairfax Studio. Cast your own vote on the productions and help us shape the future of Australian theatre!

COMPETITION FORMAT 3 - 20 December
WEEK 1: Ten of the top selected works will be presented nightly (Wed -Sat) at 8pm with ten more 'Wildcard' works presented in one performance on the Saturday at 2pm
WEEK 2: Ten of the top selected works from Independent Theatre Ensembles will be presented every night at 8pm.
WEEK 3: Ten more of the top selected works will be presented nightly (Wed -Sat) at 8pm with ten more 'Wildcard' works presented in one performance on the Saturday at 2pm
